We would like to thank all of our Employees for their continued hard work and attention to detail during these unprecedented times. As you all know, COVID-19 has impacted the Global landscape. Here at GMG, we are accountable for the Health and Safety of our Employees and as such we have implemented protocols to safeguard our Employees as much as possible under the current conditions.

The Automotive Industry will be closing their plants due to these cautionary circumstances; GMG will also be idling all plants effective March 23, 2020. Only essentials services will be available next week to meet the needs of employees and customers.

This means that all production and plant support employees unless otherwise notified will be on layoff for the week of March 23, 2020. GMG will be providing updates to employees through the website under “NEWS” in order to keep employees updated. GMG is also setting up plant hotlines for employees to call in for updates and layoff information. Employees can call in on the main number 519-822-5401 and dial the following extensions:

To apply for Employment Insurance benefits, please do so online. Service Canada will receive an electronic copy of your Record of Employment next Thursday or Friday after your pay have been processed.
